Well, it's been a day of packing while watching the Weather Network to see what clothes we'll be needing. Looks like only one maybe rainy day with the rest in the 8 to 12 degree range. We are pretty excited to finally be headed back to NYC. We leave Toronto at 10:45 (thanks Tania for driving us!) and arrive at Newark at 12:15 or so. I think we'll take the express bus to Penn Station and grab a taxi to our hotel, the Mondrian Soho. We've been reading that since its opening a couple of weeks ago, it's become a hot spot for people who are somewhat more with it than we are. Oh well, they'll just ignore us I'm sure. Below is a picture of what our room is supposed to look like.
This is apparently the lobby.
The place has been described as already a notoriously famous one, frankly speaking, it is upscale, famous, trendy and a bit ridiculous.
I just hope they let us in once they notice that we aren't rich and famous! See you tomorrow after we wander around for a while.
Rich? Famous? Maybe not, but you ARE almost people-of-independent-means (a.k.a. retired), so there! Besides, you'll balance off the ridiculousness very nicely. (Can't wait to hear all about it!)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!! I look forward to following you. And I love your blog layout!
